Erica has practiced exclusively in the law of costs since 2003, being a solicitor and Cost Lawyer prior to being called to the Bar. She qualified as a mediator in 2015.
Her background has provided a commercial awareness that enables her to adopt a pragmatic and flexible approach that takes into account wider issues.
She has a broad practice appearing for both paying and receiving parties, with particular emphasis on clinical negligence matters, commercial litigation and Solicitor Act Assessments. She regularly appears before Regional Cost Judges and in the SCCO and is frequently instructed on appeal up to High Court level.
She has mediated numerous costs claims varying from clinical
negligence claims to inheritance disputes and commercial claims.
She lectures for MBL seminars on Solicitor Act Assessments.
She is a member of the Management Board of the Education Executive Association of Cost Lawyers Training .
She has been consistently recommended in Chambers and Partners (Band 2) since 2014 and Legal 500 since 2019 (Band 1)
