Ged is Senior Costs Manager at Mills & Reeve LLP, having previously held Technical Management and Lead Advocacy roles at national costs consultancies and large legal practices. Having started his costs career in 2006, he has held roles focused on both paying and receiving party costs disputes and has substantial experience in relation to disputes involving costs management/budgeting issues.
Ged has handled costs disputes in a wide range of matters, including commercial litigation, clinical negligence, catastrophic personal injury and contentious probate. He is a qualified mediator, having completed his training with the London School of Mediation.
A significant portion of Ged’s work relates to Solicitors Act 1974 disputes between Solicitors and Clients. He regularly represents parties in the High Court and County Court in these disputes. He undertakes work on behalf of Solicitors seeking to recover/defend fees and lay clients wishing to challenge their lawyer’s bills.
